Johnstown
Castle and Gardens.
A 16th century castle set on 1000 acres
(400 hectares) of farmland. There are over 200 different
kinds of trees and shrubs and three ornamental lakes
with wildfowl. There is also a picnic area.

Ballyhack Castle.
The home of the crusader knights of the
13th century. The castle has been recently restored.

Ferns Castle
A ruin of a Norman fortification from
the 13th century. The castle is open to the public and
tours are available during the summer months
Duncannon Fort
Duncannon Fort is a star shaped
promontory fort, built in expectation of an attack by
the Spanish Armada.

Johnstown, Irish Agricultural
Museum
The courtyard of Johnstown castle houses
a museum with the largest display in the country of
restored antique farm machinery and tools
Open: June-Aug, Mon-Fri 9.00-5.00.

Enniscorthy, Wexford County
Museum
The museum is in an old Norman castle,
built in the first quarter of a 13th century Norman
castle featuring exhibits from Wexfords past including
the 1798 insurrection
Open: June-Sept., 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
Kilmore Quay - Maritime Museum
The Lightship "the Guillemot"
which is moored at the little fishing of Kilmore is host
to a Maritime Museum. There are many displays to see and
some spectacular views the bridge deck.
Open: June-September daily from 2pm-8pm
National
1798 Visitor Centre
The 1798 visitor centre is an award
winning centre offering an insight into the birth of
modern democracy in Ireland. The centre is located just
off the N11 and N30, just 500 metres from Enniscorthy
town.
Open: 7 days a week all year round.
Dunbrody
Shipyard
The reconstruction of the famine ship
"The Dunbrody". The ship is being built in Newross
and is part of the Kennedy Trust.
Irish National Heritage Park
The exhibition is located just 2kms
outside Wexford town on 35 Acres of woodland. The park
takes you on a timeline through 9000 years of Irish
history with reconstructions of all aspects of Irish
life. There is also a restaurant and craft shop.
Open: March-November, 9.30am-6.30. (last
admission is at 5.00)
John F. Kennedy Park and
Arboretum (New Ross)
The park was built in 1968 to
commemorate the late president John F Kennedy and covers
an expanse of 252 hectares. There are over 6000 species
of plants, shrubs and trees. A mini railway and pony and
trap rides are available during the summer.
Open: All year round from 10am daily.

Curracloe Nature Trail
An 800 metre nature trail along the
seashore. A booklet is available form tourist offices
and the County Council.
Wexford Wildlife Reserve
The reserve consists of reclaimed land at the North
of Wexford Harbour. The reserve is internationally
famous for the birds which nest there. Facilities
available include a car park, picnic area, observation
tower and interpretative centre.
Hook Head
Many cliff nesting birds are to be seen at Hook
lighthouse

Festival Opera
An internationally acclaimed festival occurs in the
town at the end of October every year. During the
festival there are many fringe events including opera
scenes and art exhibitions.
The Arts Centre
There are frequent exhibitions available to be seen.
